1. Toby Keith

Famed country music star Toby Keith died on February 5 from stomach cancer. The iconic singer was 62 years old. Toby is a multi-award-winning singer with hits such as Red Solo Cup, Should Have Been a Cowboy, and How Do You Like Me Now.

Toby rose to fame with his patriotic music following the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers. He has since become an iconic musician in the genre, teaming up with mega country stars like Willie Nelson.

2. Eric Carmen

Lead singer of The Raspberries, Eric Carmen, died on March 11, 2024. Eric was loved for his performance of hit songs such as All By Myself and Hungry Eyes. The singer was 74 years old. No cause of death has been listed, but Eric died in his sleep at his home.

His wife, Amy Carmen, announced the news. She posted the following statement for fans: “It is with tremendous sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Eric Carmen. Our sweet, loving, and talented Eric passed away in his sleep over the weekend. It brought him great joy to know that for decades, his music touched so many and will be his lasting legacy.”

3. Steve Lawrence

Famed singer Steve Lawrence passed away on March 7, 2024. Steve was an iconic singer who performed on talk shows, in nightclubs, and even made the Las Vegas Circuit. Steve passed away from complications resulting from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 88.

Steve would tour the United States with his wife, Eydie Gorme, as the stage duo Steve and Eydie. The couple composed hits such as Go Away Little Girl, Through the Years, and Who Wouldn’t Love You. Eydie passed away in 2013 from an undisclosed illness.

4. Richard Lewis

The immensely talented comedian Richard Lewis passed away on February 28, 2024. Richard died suddenly at home from a heart attack at the age of 76. Those who were close to Richard say that he passed peacefully.

Richard Lewis had a wildly successful career in the entertainment world. He worked alongside greats like Larry David on the hit show Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was recently disclosed that Richard Lewis had Parkinson’s disease.

5. Carl Weathers

Beloved actor Carl Weathers passed away on February 1 at the age of 76. Carl was loved for his roles in films such as Rocky, Predator, and The Mandalorian. Carl Weathers died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family.

Those close to Carl stated the following: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”

6. Herbert Coward

Forever remembered as the Toothless Man in Deliverance, Herbert Coward died on January 26, 2024. Herbert died in a car wreck that took place in western North Carolina. The actor was 85 years old.

The wreck occurred after Herbert and his 78-year-old girlfriend, Bertha Brooks, left a doctor’s appointment. Coward reportedly pulled out in front of an oncoming truck, which resulted in the accident. Herbert, Bertha, and their pet squirrel died in the accident.

7. Charles Osgood

Charles Osgood, longtime anchor of CBS Sunday Morning, died on January 23, 2024. He passed away following a battle with dementia. Osgood retired from the show in 2016 after 45 years in service and was 91 years old.

Jane Pauley is the current host of CBS Sunday Morning and had the following to say about her colleague: “Watching him at work was a masterclass in communicating. I’ll still think to myself, ‘How would Charlie say it?,’ trying to capture the elusive warmth and intelligence of his voice and delivery.”

8. Gary Graham

Primarily known for his involvement in Star Trek: Enterprise, Gary Graham passed away on January 23, 2024. The actor died due to cardiac arrest in a hospital located in Spokane, Washington. Gary Graham was 73 years old.

Gary had a prominent career in acting. He appeared in iconic shows like The Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky and Hutch. He leaves behind his ex-wife, Susan Lavelle, who had the following to say: “This was sudden, so please pray for our daughter as she navigates through this thing called grief. Fly high into the heavens, Gar!”

9. Chris Gauthier

Beloved Canadian actor Chris Gauthier passed away on February 23, 2024. Fans loved Chris for his work on Once Upon a Time, My New Best Friend, Eureka and Smallville. The actor died unexpectedly after a short illness. Chris Gauthier was 48 years old.

Chris’s agency confirmed his death with the following statement: “As a beloved Vancouver-based character actor, Chris shared his talents with so many of us both on television and in film. His loss is felt not just by his fans but by those of us who were lucky enough to know him more personally. On behalf of his family, we do ask for privacy during this time so that they are able to grieve properly.”

10. Kenneth Mitchell

Fondly remembered for his work on Star Trek: Discovery, Kenneth Mitchell died on February 24, 2024. Kenneth had been battling ALS for five years before his passing at the age of 49. His family confirmed the news online with the following statement.

“With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend. Ken was widely known as an actor in many films and television shows. He’s portrayed an Olympic hopeful, an apocalypse survivor, an astronaut, a superhero’s dad, and four unique Star Trekkers.”

11. Chita Rivera

Tony Award-winning Broadway performer Chita Rivera died in January 2024. The star had taken a break from performing after experiencing a brief illness before passing at the age of 91. Chita had been on Broadway for over 70 years.

Chita had been a part of such hits as West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Merlin, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. She received two Tony awards and The Presidential Medal of Freedom from former president Barack Obama.

12. Isabelle Thomas

Isabelle Thomas was the wife of famed producer Bradley Thomas. After the success Bradley experienced following his involvement in Killer of the Flower Moon, the couple was enjoying their life in the limelight.

Tragically, Isabelle Thomas committed suicide in early February of 2024. Isabelle was found in her hotel in Los Angeles. Isabelle was only 39 years old.

13. Dexter Scott King

The youngest child of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Dexter Scott King, passed away on January 22, 2024. According to a statement obtained by People Magazine, Dexter died after a “valiant battle with prostate cancer.”

Dexter Scott King died peacefully in his bed surrounded by family at the age of 62. Dexter lived his life as a civil and animal rights advocate, attorney, and successful author. He will be remembered for his contributions to society.

14. Alec Musser

Fondly remembered for his work on All My Children, Alec Musser passed away this January at the age of 50. It was ruled that Alec died of suicide after the San Diego County Medical Examiners Officer found what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

15. Adan Canto

Best known for his work on The Cleaning Lady and Designated Survivor, Adan Canto tragically passed away at the age of 42. Adan had been fighting a private battle with appendiceal cancer. News of his death shocked the acting world.

Warner Bros. and FOX Entertainment share the loss with Adan’s family, providing the following statement: “A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in The Following more than a decade ago.”

16. David Soul

Best known for his role as Hutch in Starsky & Hutch, David Soul passed away this January. The actor had a long battle with COPD, resulting in having a lung removed before losing his battle with cancer. David died in a London Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

The family shared the following statement for his fans: “He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as an actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend. His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.”

17. Glynis Johns

Glynis Johns is an Academy Award-nominated actress who is fondly remembered for her work on Mary Poppins. In the film, she starred alongside Julie Andrews as Winifred Banks. Glynis reached 100 years old before passing in an assisted living facility in Los Angeles.

Glynis Johns is reported to have died of natural causes. She continued acting well into her golden years, with her last performances being in Molly Shannon’s Superstar.

18. Angus Mitchell

Angus Mitchell is the only child of celebrity hair stylist Paul Mitchell. Angus was found dead at his home in January of 2024. Angus was 53 and reportedly died by drowning in his pool at his Honolulu home. Angus will be remembered as the co-owner of the John Paul Mitchell Systems.

19. Christian Oliver

Christian Oliver obtained fame for working in films such as The Baby-Sitters Club and Speed Racer. Christian, along with his two daughters, ages 10 and 12, died tragically in a plane crash this January. The pilot, Robert Sachs, also perished in the crash.

According to the official of the incident, the plane began experiencing difficulties directly after takeoff and plummeted into the ocean. After departing from J.F. Mitchell Airport, the plane was headed for St. Lucia before crashing into the ocean.

20. Harry Johnson

Harry Johnson, best known for his work in Battlestar Galactica and Law & Order, passed away at the age of 81. He had worked in the industry for over forty years. Harry appeared in everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Harry & Louise commercials.

Harry later became an author, publishing books such as Fugitive Romance: The Fictional Memoir of a Hollywood Screenwriter and Miracles and Misfits. Harry lost his battle with illness in January of 2024.

21. Tony Ganios

Primarily known for his role in Porky’s, Tony Ganios died on February 18th, 2024. The beloved actor passed one week after receiving surgery for a spinal cord infection. Ganios reportedly died of a heart attack while recovering from surgery.

His fiancé, Amanda, offered the following tribute following his death. “The last words we said to each other were ‘I love you.’ Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my best friend.”

22. Ewen MacIntosh

This UK actor is fondly remembered for his work on The Office. Ewen MacIntosh died on February 21st, 2024, at the age of 50, following several years of declining health.

His management company, Just Right Management, offered the following statement. “His family thanks all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home. There will be a private cremation for family & close friends soon & a celebratory memorial later in the year.”

23. Kenneth Mitchell

Kenneth Mitchell passed away on February 25th, 2024, after a five-year struggle with ALS. Mitchell will be fondly remembered for his work on Star Trek: Discovery. He was only 49 when he passed. The following statement was given about his passing.

24. Charles Dierkop

Beloved 70s actor Charles Dierkop passed away on February 25th, 2024. Dierkop will be fondly remembered for his work on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, and Police Woman.

25. Richard Lewis

Famed comedian Richard Lewis passed away on February 27th, 2024. Lewis passed due to a heart attack and complications with pneumonia. He also recently stated that he had been struggling with Parkinson’s disease for the past two years.

26. Anne Whitfield

Most well-known for her role in White Christmas, Anne Whitfield died on February 15th, 2024. Whitfield passed surrounded by loved ones following an unexpected accident.

Her family offered the following statement. “Through the kindness of neighbors who provided expert medical support, the family had the gift to say goodbye and express love and gratitude, a gift we will always cherish.”

27. Akira Toriyama

Akira Toriyama, the beloved animator and creator of the Dragon Ball Z anime, passed away on March 8th, 2024. At the age of 68, Toriyama died of a blood clot.

28. Robyn Bernard

Most well known for her time on General Hospital, Robyn Bernard was found dead in an “open field behind (a) business.” No cause of death has been released at this time. Bernard died on March 14th at the age of 64.

29. M. Emmet Walsh

The beloved character actor, M. Emmet Walsh, passed away on March 19th at the age of 88. Most well-known for his role in Blade Runner, Walsh died from cardiac arrest.

30. Jennifer Leak

Jennifer Leak will be fondly remembered for her time on The Young and the Restless. The beloved actress passed away on March 18th at her home in Jupiter, Florida. Leak died after her battle with Supranuclear Palsy.

31. Chance Perdomo

Chance Perdomo, best known for his work on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, died on March 30th, 2024. He was only 30 years old when he died in a motorcycle accident. His representative offered the following statement.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident. Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved. All who knew him felt his passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. 32. Joe Flaherty

33. Cole Brings Plenty

Cole Brings Plenty died on April 5th, 2024. Plenty was discovered after his uncle had reported him missing days prior. The 1923 actor was only 27.

34. O.J. Simpson

The former athlete and movie star, O.J. Simpson, passed away on April 11th,2024. Simpson died at the age of 76 following his battle with cancer. Simpson’s daughter offered the following statement.

“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

35. Meg Bennett

Soap opera star Meg Bennett died on April 11th, 2024. The beloved actress died at age 75 following a battle with cancer. Bennett’s family offered the following statement.

“Meg lost her battle with cancer. Until nearly the end, she was devotedly working with children, writing, and engaging with her far-flung family and friends.”

36. Marla Adams

Famed soap opera performer, Marla Adams passed away on April 25^th at the age of 85.

37. Sonja Christopher

Survivor star Sonja Christopher died on April 26th, 2024. The Survivalist passed away at the age of 87. Liz Wilcox offered the following statement.

“Today, the legend herself, Sonja Christopher of Season One, passed away. I had the pleasure of meeting her on Christmas. She had so much spunk and love for Survivor and what the show brought to her life. I hope you’re singing and playing your heart out somewhere beautiful, Sonja.”

38. Brian McCardie

Beloved action star Brian McCardie passed away on April 28th, 2024. McCardie will be fondly remembered for his work on projects like Rob Roy, Speed 2: Cruise Control, and Shameless. His family offered the following statement.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie (59), beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to so many. Brian passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, 28th April. A wonderful and passionate actor on stage and screen, Brian loved his work and touched many lives, and is gone much too soon. Famed Lord of the Rings actor Bernard Hill died on May 5th, 2024, at the age of 79. Barbara Dickson offered the following statement.

It’s with great sadness that I note the death of Bernard Hill. We worked together in John, Paul, George, Ringo, and Bert, Willy Russell’s marvelous show from 1974-1975. A really marvellous actor. It was a privilege to have crossed paths with him. RIP Benny x.”

40. Ian Gelder

The beloved Game of Thrones actor Ian Gelder, passed away on May 7th. Gelder died at the age of 74 after a battle with cancer. His husband offered the following statement.

“It is with huge, huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner, Ian Gelder. Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December, and yesterday, he passed at 13.07.”

Most well known for her role in Jaws, Susan Backlinie died on May 11th, 2024, in her home from a sudden heart attack at the age of 77.

43. Dabney Coleman

9 to 5 actor Dabney Coleman died on May 17th at the age of 92. His daughter, Quincy Coleman, offered the following statement. A teacher, a hero, and a king, Dabney Coleman is a gift and blessing in life and death as his spirit will shine through his work, his loved ones, and his legacy … eternally.”

44. Morgan Spurlock

Morgan Spurlock will be fondly remembered for directing the hit documentary Super Size Me. Spurlock died on May 23rd following a battle with cancer. He was 53 at the time of his passing. His brother offered the following statement.

“It was a sad day as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan. Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas, and generosity. The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.”

Known for her roles in General Hospital and The Andy Griffith Show, Elizabeth MacRae passed away on May 27th, 2024. Macrea was 88 years old and passed in her hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Her niece, Kim MacRae, had the following to say about her death.
