While we say our goodbyes, it is essential to remember the joy that these entertainers have brought us.

Each of these 20 celebrities brought something unique and memorable to their respective fields that will never be forgotten. Through their art, these performers have made us laugh, cry, dance, and think. They will all be remembered fondly.

1. Toby Keith

Famed country music star Toby Keith died on February 5 from stomach cancer. The iconic singer was 62 years old. Toby is a multi-award-winning singer with hits such as Red Solo Cup, Should Have Been a Cowboy, and How Do You Like Me Now.

Toby rose to fame with his patriotic music following the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers. He has since become an iconic musician in the genre, teaming up with mega country stars like Willie Nelson.

2. Eric Carmen

Lead singer of The Raspberries, Eric Carmen, died on March 11, 2024. Eric was loved for his performance of hit songs such as All By Myself and Hungry Eyes. The singer was 74 years old. No cause of death has been listed, but Eric died in his sleep at his home.

His wife, Amy Carmen, announced the news. She posted the following statement for fans: “It is with tremendous sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Eric Carmen. Our sweet, loving, and talented Eric passed away in his sleep over the weekend. It brought him great joy to know that for decades, his music touched so many and will be his lasting legacy.”

3. Steve Lawrence

Famed singer Steve Lawrence passed away on March 7, 2024. Steve was an iconic singer who performed on talk shows, in nightclubs, and even made the Las Vegas Circuit. Steve passed away from complications resulting from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 88.

Steve would tour the United States with his wife, Eydie Gorme, as the stage duo Steve and Eydie. The couple composed hits such as Go Away Little Girl, Through the Years, and Who Wouldn’t Love You. Eydie passed away in 2013 from an undisclosed illness.

4. Richard Lewis

The immensely talented comedian Richard Lewis passed away on February 28, 2024. Richard died suddenly at home from a heart attack at the age of 76. Those who were close to Richard say that he passed peacefully.

Richard Lewis had a wildly successful career in the entertainment world. He worked alongside greats like Larry David on the hit show Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was recently disclosed that Richard Lewis had Parkinson’s disease.

5. Carl Weathers

Beloved actor Carl Weathers passed away on February 1 at the age of 76. Carl was loved for his roles in films such as Rocky, Predator, and The Mandalorian. Carl Weathers died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family.

Those close to Carl stated the following: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”

6. Herbert Coward

Forever remembered as the Toothless Man in Deliverance, Herbert Coward died on January 26, 2024. Herbert died in a car wreck that took place in western North Carolina. The actor was 85 years old.

The wreck occurred after Herbert and his 78-year-old girlfriend, Bertha Brooks, left a doctor’s appointment. Coward reportedly pulled out in front of an oncoming truck, which resulted in the accident. Herbert, Bertha, and their pet squirrel died in the accident.

7. Charles Osgood

Charles Osgood, longtime anchor of CBS Sunday Morning, died on January 23, 2024. He passed away following a battle with dementia. Osgood retired from the show in 2016 after 45 years in service and was 91 years old.

Jane Pauley is the current host of CBS Sunday Morning and had the following to say about her colleague: “Watching him at work was a masterclass in communicating. I’ll still think to myself, ‘How would Charlie say it?,’ trying to capture the elusive warmth and intelligence of his voice and delivery.”

8. Gary Graham

Primarily known for his involvement in Star Trek: Enterprise, Gary Graham passed away on January 23, 2024. The actor died due to cardiac arrest in a hospital located in Spokane, Washington. Gary Graham was 73 years old.

Gary had a prominent career in acting. He appeared in iconic shows like The Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky and Hutch. He leaves behind his ex-wife, Susan Lavelle, who had the following to say: “This was sudden, so please pray for our daughter as she navigates through this thing called grief. Fly high into the heavens, Gar!”

9. Chris Gauthier

Beloved Canadian actor Chris Gauthier passed away on February 23, 2024. Fans loved Chris for his work on  Once Upon a Time, My New Best Friend, Eureka and Smallville. The actor died unexpectedly after a short illness. Chris Gauthier was 48 years old.

Chris’s agency confirmed his death with the following statement: “As a beloved Vancouver-based character actor, Chris shared his talents with so many of us both on television and in film. His loss is felt not just by his fans but by those of us who were lucky enough to know him more personally. On behalf of his family, we do ask for privacy during this time so that they are able to grieve properly.”

10. Kenneth Mitchell

Fondly remembered for his work on Star Trek: Discovery, Kenneth Mitchell died on February 24, 2024. Kenneth had been battling ALS for five years before his passing at the age of 49. His family confirmed the news online with the following statement.

“With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend. Ken was widely known as an actor in many films and television shows. He’s portrayed an Olympic hopeful, an apocalypse survivor, an astronaut, a superhero’s dad, and four unique Star Trekkers.”

11. Chita Rivera

Tony Award-winning Broadway performer Chita Rivera died in January 2024. The star had taken a break from performing after experiencing a brief illness before passing at the age of 91. Chita had been on Broadway for over 70 years.

Chita had been a part of such hits as West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Merlin, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. She received two Tony awards and The Presidential Medal of Freedom from former president Barack Obama.

12. Isabelle Thomas

Isabelle Thomas was the wife of famed producer Bradley Thomas. After the success Bradley experienced following his involvement in Killer of the Flower Moon, the couple was enjoying their life in the limelight.

Tragically, Isabelle Thomas committed suicide in early February of 2024. Isabelle was found in her hotel in Los Angeles. Isabelle was only 39 years old.

13. Dexter Scott King

The youngest child of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Dexter Scott King, passed away on January 22, 2024. According to a statement obtained by People Magazine, Dexter died after a “valiant battle with prostate cancer.”

Dexter Scott King died peacefully in his bed surrounded by family at the age of 62. Dexter lived his life as a civil and animal rights advocate, attorney, and successful author. He will be remembered for his contributions to society.

14. Alec Musser

Fondly remembered for his work on All My Children, Alec Musser passed away this January at the age of 50. It was ruled that Alec died of suicide after the San Diego County Medical Examiners Officer found what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

15. Adan Canto

Best known for his work on The Cleaning Lady and Designated Survivor, Adan Canto tragically passed away at the age of 42. Adan had been fighting a private battle with appendiceal cancer. News of his death shocked the acting world.

Warner Bros. and FOX Entertainment share the loss with Adan’s family, providing the following statement: “A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in The Following more than a decade ago.”

16. David Soul

Best known for his role as Hutch in Starsky & Hutch, David Soul passed away this January. The actor had a long battle with COPD, resulting in having a lung removed before losing his battle with cancer. David died in a London Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

The family shared the following statement for his fans: “He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as an actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend. His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.”

17. Glynis Johns

Glynis Johns is an Academy Award-nominated actress who is fondly remembered for her work on Mary Poppins. In the film, she starred alongside Julie Andrews as Winifred Banks. Glynis reached 100 years old before passing in an assisted living facility in Los Angeles.

Glynis Johns is reported to have died of natural causes. She continued acting well into her golden years, with her last performances being in Molly Shannon’s Superstar.

18. Angus Mitchell

Angus Mitchell is the only child of celebrity hair stylist Paul Mitchell. Angus was found dead at his home in January of 2024. Angus was 53 and reportedly died by drowning in his pool at his Honolulu home. Angus will be remembered as the co-owner of the John Paul Mitchell Systems.

19. Christian Oliver

Christian Oliver obtained fame for working in films such as The Baby-Sitters Club and Speed Racer. Christian, along with his two daughters, ages 10 and 12, died tragically in a plane crash this January. The pilot, Robert Sachs, also perished in the crash.

According to the official of the incident, the plane began experiencing difficulties directly after takeoff and plummeted into the ocean. After departing from J.F. Mitchell Airport, the plane was headed for St. Lucia before crashing into the ocean.

20. Harry Johnson

Harry Johnson, best known for his work in Battlestar Galactica and Law & Order, passed away at the age of 81. He had worked in the industry for over forty years. Harry appeared in everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Harry & Louise commercials.

Harry later became an author, publishing books such as Fugitive Romance: The Fictional Memoir of a Hollywood Screenwriter and Miracles and Misfits. Harry lost his battle with illness in January of 2024.
